How Smart Is League Expansion For The NBA To Europe?

What pros and cons do you forsee? Is it or isn't it worth the costs? Would you watch more NBA games if the league expended to include European teams?I find it interesting that most of you are viewing it from the European perspective and how it would negatively affect them. I didn't expect that kind of empathy. Please keep your opinions coming.

2008-02-23 13:24:43 Roxie-Curry says: not very. i dont really like the idea of nba europe. i mean europe already has their own league and system and teams. plus it would really suck for west coast teams to travel to europe to play a couple game.

2008-02-23 13:30:59 Zachary-Unk says: it will destroy the existing leagues in those nation's...making them more like a development system for the nba. advertisers will want to invest in the real deal. it is the next logical step for the brand name, but the ramifications in developing players - and providing players opportunities to make a living from the game - will shrink considerably.

2008-02-23 13:32:53 Garnet-Simmons says: this is the worst idea i have ever heard for several reasons1. expansion killed the nba for about 10 years...just recently did they fill the hole in talent with international players, more expansion would lessen the overall talent2. it would be a nightmare in terms of travel...teams from the west going to europe to play, are u serious?3. european players would wanna play in their country.. i assume it would essentially become 30 teams in america and 5 national teams...european teams would have an advantage in this regard.1,2,3 are in order of importance
